6 Keys to keep your business afloat

Cash - have enough of this valuable commodity. Too little and you run into liquidity problems. Having too much could mean that your not managing your money correctly. Make it work for you and to your advantage!

Performance -  review your financial budget. Become familiar with your P and L. Some executives swear by knowing their 'bottom line' at the end of each business day. With whatever regularity you choose to do so, ensure that you monitor your results often.

People - your business success hinges on people.  Network effectively, manage and follow up prospects, and keep yourself and business relevant to others. Emply the correct staff. Ensure they have the same work ethic as you, having made sure to model your preferred style.

Customer service - your customers should be kept happy. Guage their satisfaction not only by repeat sales but also ask them for testimonials and referrals.

Persistence - be persistent with the people with who you have been in contact. Remember 'No' could also mean 'not at this time'. Don't take it personal but keep the channels of communication open.

Competitors -  Stay ahead of the game. Be aware of what your competitors offer and find ways to match if not exceed by providing a better product and service.
